Radiant with Georgian splendour, these Iberian Emerald chandelier earrings cascade in articulated foliate panels, ablaze with 12.30ct of verdant Emeralds framed by twinkling Rose-Cut Diamonds. The two-tone palette—Silver settings with 18ct Gold to the hooks, backs and Emerald collets—heightens the drama, while the openwork scrolls and closed-back collets are quintessential 18th-century hallmarks.

Each vivid green Emerald is hand-set within fine gilded bezels and punctuated by a constellation of old Rose-Cut Diamonds in Silver, creating a romantic girandole silhouette that moves beautifully. With approximately 12.30ct of Emeralds and 3.30ct of Diamonds combined, this extraordinary pair offers opulence, history and theatre in equal measure.

ERA: Georgian c.1780–1790.

MEASUREMENTS: Earrings are 100mm long including hooks.
Earrings are 25mm wide at widest point.
Diamonds graduate from 1mm to 2.5mm in diameter, weighing approx. 1.65ct per earring (3.30ct combined).*
Emeralds graduate from 3mm x 4mm to 8mm x 7mm, weighing approx 6.15ct per earring (12.30ct combined).
WEIGHT: 66g (pair).

*Please note the unique and irregular shape of Rose-cut Diamonds prohibit their accurate carat weight assessment. Carat weights provided are estimates only and based on the carat spread of equivalent-sized modern round brilliant-cut Diamonds.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold (hooks, backs and Emerald settings), Silver, Emeralds (12.30ct), Diamonds (3.30ct).

STAMPS: Obscured Iberian stamps on the level backs

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD: We are so excited to present this piece, an exquisite find of museum quality. The Emeralds show some age-consistent facet wear and small abrasions, with natural inclusions visible; one small Diamond is missing and several Rose-Cut Diamonds display gentle abrasion/cloudiness under magnification. The Silver settings and articulated links are secure with an attractive antique patina, and the 18ct Gold hooks are in good order. There is a small ding on the back of one of the earrings, not noticable during wear. Overall wear is in keeping with an 18th-century jewel and the pair has been well cared for.
