A lozenge-shaped Garnet brings a flash of rich pink-red to the centre of this Victorian ring, with two teardrop Garnets pointing inwards on either side. Four small Emeralds sit above and below the spaces between them, their vivid green creating a lively contrast. Rounded Gold details cluster around the stone settings, while the open outline follows the different shapes rather than enclosing them in a heavy border.

The decoration continues beyond the gemstones: scrolling engraving travels from the shoulders around the 15ct Gold band. A side view reveals curled openings beneath the raised settings, and the open backs show the individual Garnet shapes again from below. Dated circa 1869, the ring combines a beautifully considered arrangement of colour with fine detail across the shank.

Resizing is not recommended because it would interrupt the continuous engraved pattern on the band.

MEASUREMENTS: Ring band tapers from 8.5mm to 2.5mm wide.
4 x Emeralds measure 2mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.20ct combined.
Central Garnet measures 6mm long x 5mm wide.
Two teardrop Garnets measure 6mm long x 4mm wide.
Total Garnet weight is approx. 1.61ct.
WEIGHT: 1.7g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 15ct Gold, Garnet (1.61ct), Emerald (0.20ct).

HALLMARKS: 15, 625, Birmingham Anchor, date letter U for 1869.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

EXCELLENT: The scrolling engravings remain well defined along the band and shoulders. Fine surface scratches are visible inside the shank, while darker traces sit beneath the settings and around their curled openings. The coloured stones retain distinct faceted outlines.
